Ghana midfielder Agyeman Badu saddened by death of Berekum Arsenal owner Yakubu Moro


Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyeman Badu says saddened after learning of the sudden demise of Berekum Arsenal owner Alhaji Yakubu Moro.

The 29-year-old midfielder received the bad news on Friday morning and has told Accra-based Hot FM he feels saddened after hearing the bad news.

“I am very saddened by the death of Alhaji Moro because has really been of immense help to my career. I’m just perturbed and don’t know to what to say,” he told Hot FM.

“I have even printed some jersey for them which they will be using for this season. I’m really sad this morning,” he added.

Badu, currently on the books of Hellas Verona, spent one season at the Berekum-based side before moving to Kotoko in the 2008/09 season.

Moro, the bank roller and owner of Berekum Arsenal, passed away in the wee hours of Friday aged 60 after suffering stroke.

The tough-talking administrator had been on admission at the Ridge Hospital in Accra for the past week after suffering stroke on arrival at the hospital.

According to Ghana Sports Online checks which has been corroborated by friends and family he travelled to Accra to personally file paperworks for Berekum Arsenal at the Ghana Football Association almost a fortnight ago.

After submitting the documents he went to the Ridge Hospital to consult his personal doctor for medical check up but he shockingly suffered stroke on arrival at the hospital.
