Senior Minister Yaw Osafo-Maafo has endorsed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for re-election, asserting that Ghana needs his progressive leadership now to protect the gains made and to accelerate development of the country.

Addressing the chiefs and people of Nzema as part of his campaign tour in the Western Region, Mr. Osafo-Maafo called on the residents to support the President for another term.

According to him, President Akufo-Addo has the leadership ability to harness Ghana’s resources to develop every part of the country, particularly the Western Region.

He told the people about the government’s plan to establish a petrochemical industry in the Western Region, and said the region would become the petroleum hub not just in Ghana, but in the West African sub-region.

The Senior Minister indicated that President Akufo-Addo had proven, within his first term, to be a promise keeper and that there was every reason for Ghanaians to have confidence in him to do more, saying that the President and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would offer Ghanaians leadership of service that was intended to protect the nation’s progress and transform the country for all and sundry in the second term.

“Beyond the Free SHS, One District One Factory (1D1F), Planting for food and jobs (PFJ), One Constituency One Ambulance, NABCO, Covid-19 Alleviation Fund, restoration of teachers and nurses training allowances and NBSSI loan for SMEs, we will do more for this country,” the minister assured the chiefs.

Mr. Osafo-Maafo, who was accompanied by the National Chairman of the NPP, Freddie Blay, Chief Executive Officer of GNPC, Dr. K. K. Sarpong and the Western Region Council of State Member, Mrs. Eunice Asoma-Hinneh, used the opportunity to inaugurate the Kalera Union FC Astro turf park constructed by the GNPC.

He also paid a courtesy call on all the seven paramount chiefs of the area namely Awulae Annor Adjei III of Western Nzema, Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli II of Eastern Nzema, Nsein Awulae Agyefi Kwame of Nsein, Awulae Angama Tu Agyan II of Gwira, Awulae Attibulukusu III of Lower Axim; Nana Kwesi Adusei II of Upper Axim and Nana Nyamekye II of Apatam.

The chiefs commended the government and President Akufo-Addo in particular for bringing transformation to Ghana in the last four years.

They commended the progress made within the first term of the President and appealed to him to construct a science resource centre in the region to complement the petrochemical industry the government planned to establish.
