Andre Ayew scored his fifth goal of the season for Swansea City as they stole an important point away at Brentford Community Stadium when the Swans visited last season’s Championship finalists, Brentford.
The captain of the day for the Jack Army, in the second game running, led the team to a 1-1 draw as they maintained their second position on the league log.
Goals from Ivan Toney and the Black Stars captain settled the game on Tuesday night.
Andre first came close to breaking the deadlock when he pushed a ball out wide on the left flank and lashed it on target, but the Brentford goalkeeper, Raya, pushed it to safety.
In the 36th minute, English forward, Ivan Toney, 24, scored the game’s opener to give the London side the lead in the keenly contested game, courtesy a cross from Mathias Jensen.
Steve Cooper’s side waited until the 77th minute when a similar cross that resulted in the opener was made by Matt Grimes went to the far post, and Andre was there in time to tap it home.
There was still time for late drama as the 30-year-old attacking midfielder, who played as a second-striker, headed in what looked like the winner, but was ruled out for an offside late in the game.
The former West Ham star has scored his fifth goal of the season with one assist to his name in 10 games.
Swansea City now with 19 points are trailing three points behind league leaders Reading, 22 points after 10 games in the Championship.
