Checks by MyNewsGH.com at the Headquarters of the United Front Party (UFP) indicate that there is a raging confusion among leadership after some declared support for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag bearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo ahead of the 2020 polls.

Some leaders of the party on Tuesday at a press conference at Suame in Kumasi declared their support for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the December 7 election.  According to these leaders, their decision was borne out of a research conducted which shows that the NPP is the party which needs the support of Ghanaians to continue to roll out good police and governance.

The 2016 running mate and Director of Operation of the UFP, Mr. David Bonya who led the press conference urged their party supporters to vote massively for the President Akufo-Addo and the NPP come December 7.

However, speaking to GBC’s radio programme “Behind the News” Director of Operations Mr. David Bonya hinted that, there are about 3,500 party members who are poised to vote for the NPP and its flag bearer Akufo-Addo.

He also said their reason to declare support for the NPP is that “we could see that this time things are getting better than it was”.

Meanwhile, Founder and disqualified Presidential Candidate of the UFP, Nana Agyenim Boateng well known as Gyataba who also spoke to the state broadcaster insisted that, both David Esie Bonya and the Running mate of the 2012 presidential election Mr. Agyin Osei are not card-bearing members of the party hence they have no right to declare support for any political party or a presidential candidate ahead of this year’s election which is barely 12 days to go.

“They are not members of the UFP. Both Mr. David Esie Bonya and Agyin Osei have been suspended from the party long ago”, he said in the interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com

He also pointed accusing fingers at the media saying “I don’t blame them I blame the media, the so-called unprofessional journalists who went there to cover their press conference”.

Gyataba continued that “UFP is a serious registered political party that has constitution members abide with it”. They are not members of the party and it is unfortunate”.

But Mr. Mr. David Esie Bonya also speaking in to GBC radio insisted that their founder and flag bearer Mr. Agyenim Boateng is the one who has been suspended by the party and has no right to decide who the party intend to support.
