The incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese(AAK) constituency, Mr. Elvis Morris Donkoh has handed a humbling defeat to the Former Deputy Minister of Communications under opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) in the John Dramani Mahama administration, Mr. Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
Mr. Ofosu Kwakye who was eyeing Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese constituency seat failed to unseat the incumbent MP, Mr. Morris Donkoh who retained the seat for governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) with 25,048 votes while Ofosu Kwakye managed to win 24,872.
Announcing his defeat and conceding the same on his Facebook page, the former Minister said “It was so close yet so far for me. I lost by 176 votes. Congratulations Elvis Morris Donkor and better luck to me next time,” he said.
Adding that “I am also deeply grateful to all of you out there who supported my bid in diverse ways.”
