Prez Akufo-Addo Proud Of Black Stars After Victory Over Bafana Bafana


Ghana President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo says he is proud of the performance of the Black Stars on Thursday night as he lauds the team for beating South Africa 2-0 in the qualifiers to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The Black Stars started off their campaign in the qualifiers to the next AFCON with a resounding win over the Bafana Bafana at the Cape Coast Stadium after a pulsating encounter.

A second-half strike from debutants Mohammed Kudus complemented an equalizer from Thomas Partey in the first half to seal the win for Coach James Kwesi Appiah and his charges.

Reacting to the win with a Twitter post, President Nana Addo says he is proud of the players as well as the technical team for the win whiles also congratulating the Ghana U-23 team for recording a win against Mali yesterday to progress to the semis of the CAF U-23 AFCON.

“Great performance by the Black Stars, and a thoroughly deserved victory against South Africa. Very proud of the players, technical and management teams. Next stop, São Tomé, and Príncipe. Kudos also to the Black Meteors”, His Excellency tweeted.

Ghana’s away clash with Sao Tome will be played on Sunday, November 17, 2019.
